A child, like a miracle, brings a drastic change in our life. A change which the whole family looks forward to, a change for which we time and again thank God. This 14th of November, as all the schools and parents wish millions of children a Happy Children’s Day, let us count the reasons why we need to celebrate this day. Or so to say why should we celebrate every day, every moment of childhood.
Celebrate the joys of childhood: Celebrate the tears of joy when your child called you ‘ma’ for the first time, the pride when he took his first step, the love that flowed when he made a card for you, the warmth whenever he slept in your lap. Celebrate the expected and all the unexpected joys your child gives you.
Celebrate the pains of childhood: The sleepless nights, the messy bedroom, your child’s tantrums, your loss of freedom celebrate all the things you wish you could change about bringing up children but cannot.
Celebrate the fun of childhood: Making different shaped sandwiches for your child, watching Tom and Jerry with him, laughing at his silly jokes and even sillier questions – celebrate the sunshine your child has brought to your world.
Celebrate the beauty of childhood: Getting wet in the rain, dancing like a monkey, writing your name on the mist on window panes, playing pranks celebrate the chance you have got to relive your childhood through your child.
Celebrate the power of childhood: Remember all the times when a hug from your child relieved you of all your tensions, all the times when he reminded you of your wrongs and helped you become a better human being, all the times when you experienced pure love. Doesn’t your child remind you all the time that as long as you have him, you have everything? So let us celebrate childhood.
