We, at Mother’s Pride, are aware that number sense is essential for our young math learners. It promotes confidence and encourages flexible thinking. It allows our Prideens to create a relationship with numbers and be able to talk about math as a language. In line with this view, Number 5 was introduced and reinforced through the concept of adding one more to 4. High five was a big hit among children; it helped them quantify and create a quantity symbol relationship. The virtual class came alive with the jumps and shouts of five little monkeys. To relate it to what they already know, so the counting is more meaningful, children enjoyed coloring in the number 5 and mangoes and participated enthusiastically in fun-filled activities.
