Young children love to go out. They are curious about the world around them. Given a chance, the first thing children want to do is to go out and play. Children have little understanding about roads, cars, streets and traffic rules. It is therefore important for us to guide and shape their attitude towards road safety.
A workshop was organized for our Prideen’s from grade nursery, where they learnt about the basics of staying safe on the road. The teacher created a 3D road scene for the class activity. Children came dressed as traffic lights, cars, buses and traffic police. They attentively heard and followed the instructions the teacher gave regarding traffic rules. Children enjoyed and enthusiastically participated in enacting a scene at the zebra crossing as a part of the activity.
Our Prideens later stepped out with their teacher, where they were encouraged to observe and apply their learnings of the day.
The workshop also helped to enhance the vocabulary of the children. They got introduced to new words like stop, wait, go right away, zebra crossing, etc. It also resulted in social development as they enthusiastically participated in a group and were eager to share their personal experiences too.
